After playing it over at Gamescom this year, I am extremely excited for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It feels just like the first game, which is definitely not a bad thing, but with some key changes to make it a bit more accessible without hurting the quality. However, with how gorgeous the game looks, I was skeptical about playing it on the Steam Deck, but with the PC Specifications being revealed, I feel a little more confident that it will run.

The specifications were posted by Sir Tobi (@SirTobi28), who is the PR manager for developer Warhorse Studios, the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance. On the surface, it looks like it will be a difficult game to run, but it was his comment that started giving me hope. He mentioned that the specs listed do not consider upscaling at all, meaning you can use upscalers to push performance even more:

While there aren't any upscalers listed, he posted the target resolution and frame rates for consoles and listed AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution as being used on the Xbox. This does mean that we will most likely have FSR on the PC release as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if we also had XeSS and DLSS as options. Hopefully, they will be the updated versions of these tech, but time will tell.

Everything else for the Minimum/Low specifications is within the Steam Deck's playability, but just barely. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU, and 16GB RAM are all within what the Deck can handle, but it can still result in lots of drops if not optimized well. But if we take upscaling into account and the fact that the minimum target is 1080p and not 800p, I believe this will be playable on the Steam Deck using FSR. We will still have to target 30 FPS, I can't see us being able to push it much higher, but I do believe it will be possible to stick to 30.

Time will tell for sure, but I can't wait for the game to release! I have high hopes for it, and this spec sheet makes me feel even more confident that we will be able to play it on the go.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be purchased on Steam for $59.99 ahead of its February 4th release.
