It is always a bit sad to see games being delisted on Steam, especially in an age where digital preservation can be questionable. At least for some, we do have a heads up and can act accordingly, while they also do honor those who already purchased the game to keep it downloadable and playable. Xbox is doing exactly that with Forza Horizon 4, and it is leaving later today.

The game is leaving all digital sales due to licensing issues, so this is the last time you will have to buy it before it goes offline forever. There is an 80% off sale right now for the next 17 hours (at the time of writing), so I assume it will be taken down once the sale ends. However, 80% off for a really solid racer is a great deal, and it is one that runs wonderfully on the Steam Deck.

I decided to take a look at the game on the Deck and see just how well it runs before it is too late to purchase it, and it is really great. It drained the battery a lot, but I was hitting 60 FPS with a high battery drain. It may be a bit too high at times, but I was able to set a TDP limit of 11 and still mostly get 60 at the default settings. I can see this going into the 45 FPS range to save battery, and it is fantastic for a racing game like this while still looking incredible.

I did notice some slight stuttering, which seemed to even out when I rebooted the game, so it may have been a one time issue for me. Regardless, it is a solid experience and one I am happy to highly recommend based on my gameplay so far.

You can purchase Forza Horizon 4 for 80% off at $11.99 for today before it leaves the Steam store forever.
