Darkest Dungeon has always been one of my favorite games to play, thanks to its addicting turn-based combat paired with the insanity and roguelike systems, so this news is especially exciting for me! Darkest Dungeon 2 got a brand new update yesterday that adds full Steam Deck support, as well as new content.
In the update, called Chirugeon's Table, we now have full support for the Steam Deck, which also resulted in the game being Verified by Valve. On top of that, we have full gamepad support and optimizations which should help with performance in many areas.
As for the content side of the update, we now have a brand new location to visit, 2 new minibosses (The Collector and The Gaunt Chirugeon), and 6 new champion enemies. We also have an overhaul to the torch and Infernal Flame system. There were also a ton of bug fixes, which you can check out in the full changelog for this update.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is a roguelite game where you will form a party and go from area to area and face dangers to avert an apocalypse. On the way, you will partake in turn-based combat, upgrade your team and stagecoach, and need to carefully manage their stress so your team doesn't go insane.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is on a 25% off sale until August 24th and can be purchased on Steam for $30.
