Developer Envision Entertainment has announced that their new Fantasy City Building game Pioneers of Pagonia is getting a demo in early October before its early access release on December 13th.

Recently nominated at this year's Gamescom for "Most Wholesome" game, Pioneers of Pagonia is looking like a great title to cozy up with this winter season.

The focus in this strategy game is the economy, accompanied by deep gameplay mechanics and over 40 different buildings and 70 wares to manage. You'll also need to build road networks to connect your settlement and ensure smooth operation. I'm getting serious Anno vibes from this game, and I'm loving it.

It's your mission to expand your settlement, meet other factions, and ultimately unite the islands of Pagonia together in peaceful harmony. The developers are emphasizing pacifist methods to accomplish unity rather than war, and that's certainly a welcome thing in the RTS genre. There will, however, be those who don't want unity, and it's your job to protect your citizens from the threat they pose.

On top of all this, Pioneers of Pagonia features procedurally generated maps, meaning each time you play, there will be new challenges to face and endless gameplay opportunities. There's even a sneaky mention of cooperative gameplay with a friend!

If a colorful and relaxing fantasy city builder is what you're looking for this winter, head on over to Steam and add Pioneers of Pagonia to your wishlist, and be sure to check out the demo when it drops this October!
