Ubisoft has been having a tough time as of late, with XDefiant player numbers dwindling fast, Star Wars Outlaws being released to a lukewarm reception, and now what was supposed to be their biggest game of 2024, Assassin's Creed Shadows, now delayed until February 14th, 2025 after recently canceling the game's press previews.
It's not all bad news though, because Ubisoft has also confirmed that the delay means the game will be launching on the Steam platform on day 1, alongside the expected Ubisoft Connect release.
You can find the latest trailer for the game below, just make sure to ignore the release date at the end.
Will you be trying out Assassin's Creed Shadows at launch now that it's coming to Steam? This definitely seems like a tactic by Ubisoft to boost sales when it really needs it. Their share price has been in free fall this year, having dropped 62% over the past 12 months, so they need a win quite badly, and Assassin's Creed Shadows seems to be their main hope.
