While I haven't tried it myself, The Mobius Machine looks like an awesome Metroidvania I can get behind. I love the focus on exploration, and the world itself looks vibrant and gorgeous. And, while it was playable on the Steam Deck, it seems the developers had a trick up their sleeve and found ways to make some subtle optimizations to make the portable experience much more enjoyable.
In the new 1.0.2 update, there were some improvements to the Shadow Maps on Medium and Low quality setting presets. This does, in hand, improve performance for devices that will use them. The Steam Deck is one such device, so having these improvements do help the performance overall on there. I can't say for sure exactly what the performance gain is, but seeing how Shadows have affected other games, this could be a big help.
On top of these optimizations, there are new fast travel locations and map layout changes throughout Sector 01 to 07, which include new extendible ladders, more signposts, and new ways to get out of rooms. You can also now place 50 markers in the map and some rare crashes were fixed.
You can check out the full changelog with all the details on their Steam Community Post.
The Mobius Machine is available on Steam for $24.99.
