Wrestling fans are unfortunately going to have to wait a little longer to begin their journey to being the greatest wrestler of all-time. Earlier today, Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games announced a delay for their upcoming game, WrestleQuest, to fix a save game bug.

In a statement regarding the release, the teams had this to say:

When performing final checks on one of our launch platforms, we discovered it was possible for players to lose their save game progress when playing WrestleQuest on multiple different devices.

Because this is a game filled with hours of content and player progress is so important, we could never bodyslam our fans like that.

We are truly proud of this game and believe that we have a product that delivers on all counts. We’re blown away by the support we’ve seen from players excited for WrestleQuest and we can’t wait to share the finished game with everyone on August 22.

While it is unfortunate the game has to be set back and release in 2 weeks, this is a bug that might actually affect us playing on the Steam Deck, especially if you hop from desktop to Deck or even Deck to another handheld (which we do while testing).

I had the awesome chance to review WrestleQuest too, which was originally due to be released today. I really enjoyed the game, loving the impeccable charm and world that the studios built. It does need Proton GE to run correctly, but otherwise, it performs extremely well.

WrestleQuest will be $30 on release and can be wishlisted on Steam now.
