Salt 2 Gets Keyboard/Mouse Fix on the Steam Deck in New Update

I remember when I first played the open-world exploration game Salt. It made me feel like a pirate, putting an emphasis on finding loot, making new discoveries, and sailing across oceans that are filled with unique areas to uncover. The sequel to the game, Salt 2: Shores of Gold, was released in early access and improved on the original in almost every single way. And, with the newest update, you can enjoy playing on the Steam Deck with a keyboard and mouse again!

In the new update that was released today, we have a specific fix for playing Salt 2 when a keyboard and mouse are attached to the Steam Deck. This means that if you have a keyboard and mouse attached to your Deck to play the game, you should be able to use it now, versus before when you weren't able to effectively.

Other than this, the patch adds a new small sailboat that you can craft. It can't hold a lot compared to larger ships, but it's much more maneuverable. There are also some new items that can be found in chests, a new club weapon, some new stamp options for the map, new sounds and graphics, and a bunch of bug fixes. There are also some changes to allow ship decorations to now be placed in your hotbar and radial menu.

Salt 2: Shores of Gold can be purchased on Steam for $19.99 and is rated Steam Deck Playable due to the game sometimes showing incorrect controller icons.
