Of all of the horror games I have seen last year, Zoochosis is one of the few that really caught my eye. The haunting image of a zookeeper taking care of horrific animals in a zoo that isn't what it seems was so intriguing. While it does hold up in the atmosphere, it wasn't the greatest Steam Deck experience, as we noted in our review. However, a new update was released recently that does include a new option for the Steam Deck.

Of all the changes in this update, there is only one that specifically deals with the Steam Deck. You will now have FPS options when playing on the Deck. I went to investigate and see the options for myself to see exactly what this means. However, when I got into the game, my settings were locked to the Epic setting, and my framerate at the main menu was 4 FPS. Sadly, I couldn't find out for myself, but it's possible this problem was specific to my device, and you won't have this problem.

Outside of that, there are a solid amount of nice updates here. The horror system mechanics have been enhanced for better immersion, the logic for the Doctor's appearances for better pacing has been improved, you can skip some phrases in Lily's dialogues, there is no more timer for healing a fallen boss, food slicing mechanics are more intuitive, and some pesky bugs have been eradicated.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.
