With their much-anticipated TennoVIP community celebration, Digital Extremes delivered a slew of exciting announcements for Warframe fans at Gamescom 2024, leaving a lasting impression. Among the many things showcased at the event were the official name of Warframe's Q3 Update, a new deluxe skin for the iconic Volt Warframe, the first screenshot of the new Warframe Cyte-09, and concept art for an anime short collaboration with THE LINE. It was also revealed how many in-game Nightwave rewards will be available soon.
Digital Extremes also debuted new gameplay trailers for Soulframe and Warframe: 1999 at the Into The Infinite Gamescom showcase. Warframe: 1999 will be available to fans in Winter 2024, and public testing for Soulframe will start in the fall of the same year.
Warframe’s “Koumei and Five Fates” Update Announced
A new name has been given to Warframe's "Unannounced Fall Update": Koumei and Five Fates. The development team's devotion to Japanese culture, and the idea of safeguarding "good fortune" in particular, served as inspiration for this update.
During a live presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, fans will be able to see the 58th Warframe for the first time and get a thorough rundown of everything coming with the Koumei and Five Fates Update.
Volt’s New Deluxe Skin
Digital Extremes hinted at a new premium skin for Volt, an original Warframe, alongside the update announcement. The most recent concept art and a screenshot of the game's development showcased this "thunder god-inspired" skin, which fans are very excited about because it will be available in the Koumei and Five Fates Update.
Cyte-09 and Warframe: 1999
This Winter, Warframe: 1999, the highly anticipated new chapter in the Warframe story, will debut alongside the 59th Warframe, Cyte-09, who was previously introduced as Protoframe Quincy at TennoCon 2024. Players got a sneak peek at Cyte-09's distinct style and personality at TennoVIP, where they got an exclusive first look at the character's in-game model—complete with his trademark beret.
Anime Short Collaboration with THE LINE
Animation studio THE LINE revealed character concept art for Protoframe Lettie in an exclusive look at their upcoming anime short, Warframe: 1999, adding to the anticipation for the game. Thanks to this partnership, the visually breathtaking universe of Warframe will be brought to life in a whole new way.
Nightwave Rewards Return
Finally, the next set of Nightwave rewards will be available beginning September 3, according to Digital Extremes. New operator gear and sigils are part of this Stalker-themed reward series, giving players even more options to personalize their gaming experience.
