SteamOS3619Update

Less than two weeks ago, we had the new SteamOS 3.6.19 update, which brought with it a plethora of updates and changes, and now, we have a new smaller update that should be great for those playing Metaphor: ReFantazio! SteamOS 3.6.20 has dropped into the stable branch so everyone can take advantage of the improvements, and while there aren't a ton, it's still wonderful!

We have two issues that were fixed with the updater reverting you back if you had modified configuration files and an issue with taking multiple screenshots while game recording (Steam Client beta only). We also have improved performance in Metaphor: ReFantazio, which when we tested, found some very slight improvements across the board. This did bring framerate up in the problem areas we encountered initially, but they still just barely hit 30 FPS.

Regardless, it's a welcome update, and I am super happy to see it! You can download the update by going to your System Settings on the Steam Deck and checking for an update.

SteamOS 3.6.20 Stable Update Changelog:

General

  • Fixed an issue where the updater could repeatedly revert you to the previous OS version if certain configuration files were user-modified
  • Fixed an issue with taking multiple screenshots if Game Recording is on
  • Improved performance in Metaphor: ReFantazio by up to 20%
