There are a couple of genres I never imagined getting mixed together, but I have been surprised recently with some games combining them into one incredible game. Sleight of Hand seems to be one of those, taking 3rd-person action-stealth mechanics and adding in a Deckbuilding gameplay, but I have to say, I am extremely excited about it after watching the announcement trailer that was shown off during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase:

According to the Steam store page, Sleight of Hand will utilize cards as your special abilities, which include scouting, teleporting, setting up traps, blinding enemies, and ways to interact with your environment. You will be able to stack your deck for specific environments, upgrade, and decide how many you will take, which will influence the game. All of this sounds incredible, and I am extremely excited to see the way developer RiffRaff Games will be using this mechanic to create some compelling gameplay elements.

This is probably one of my top three games shown off in the Xbox presentation today, and after reading how they will be implementing deckbuilding, I am quite pumped!

Sleight of Hand can be wishlisted now on Steam and will be released in 2025. There aren't any requirements detailed just yet, but based on the more cartoony look, I am hoping it will be less detailed overall, which will ease up GPU strain and possibly make it more playable on the Steam Deck!
