We were pretty fond of Sins of a Solar Empire II, and the Ruins of War update is now live for everyone! As we mentioned previously, this is a pretty chunky patch.

In terms of new content, Ruins of War features new debris effects in the aftermath of major battles, so destroyed Titans, Capital Ships, and Starbases leave massive wreckage behind that serves as a reminder of the cosmic scale of war. There are new gravity wells across the galaxy that have different anomalies dependent on type, new start types, and an improved pacing for the opening couple of hours of the game.

There are also new tutorials for the unique faction mechanics, such as trading and Advent Unity, which should help newcomers get to grips with Sins of a Solar Empire II's big learning curve. This is just one part of the big content plans for the game over the next few months.

Sins of a Solar Empire II is available on Steam. What do you think of the new patch? Let us know in the comments!
