Space Engineers Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released yesterday, and it has some nice fixes and more playable games, which is awesome to see! We should now be able to play FlatOut 3 and Dinner with an Owl, and RAID: World War 2 will no longer randomly hang when you start it. There's also a nice fix for Space Engineers where the intro video would show a black screen instead of the actual video.

Your Steam Deck will automatically add the new update to the download queue if you already have the layer, and if you don't, you can find it by searching "Proton Experimental" in the search bar.

Proton Experimental Update 8/8/24 Changelog:

  • Now playable: Flatout 3, Banyu Lintar Angin, Owl Observatory Demo, Dinner with an Owl, Sword of Convallaria.
  • Added a warning that appears in Proton Log for systems that have low file descriptor limit (e.g. non-systemd distributions).
  • Fixed RAID: World War II randomly hanging on start.
  • Fixed Strip Fighter ZERO not starting on some setups.
  • Fixed Undecember not being playable after a recent game update.
  • Fixed Proton Experimental regression that caused Space Engineers to display black screen instead of the intro video.
