KinitoPET Proton Experimental

Proton Experimental got a new update earlier today, making new games playable and bringing in a fix from the Proton Hotfix branch! KinitoPET is now playable on the Steam Deck using this layer, while we can now host multiplayer games again in Foundry! We also got the Ubisoft Launcher fixed from not starting games on a fresh Proton prefix, and we have support for D3D12 in OpenXR. And for those who want to use the Experimental branch with THE FINALS, the fix from crashing on launch has been carried over from the Proton Hotfix layer!

The Proton Experimental update should automatically download, but if you haven't downloaded the layer at all yet, you can search in your game bar at the top and download it!

Proton Experimental 5/23/24 Update Changelog:

  • Now playable: KinitoPET.
  • Previously in Proton Hotfix: Fixed The Finals crashing on launch after a recent game update.
  • Fixed hosting multiplayer games in Foundry.
  • Fixed Ubisoft Launcher not starting games with a fresh Proton prefix.
  • Fixed outdated Nvidia driver warning in Ghost of Tsushima.
  • Fixed issue causing no audio being played while Microsoft Flight Simulator displays developers logos.
  • Added support for D3D12 in OpenXR.
  • Fixed Ubisoft Launcher asking for serial number on first launch of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
