A small Proton Experimental update was released yesterday that brings out a nice fix for the Battle.net launcher. Using the launcher on the Steam Deck can break easily thanks to the launcher constantly updating itself. Now, that shouldn't be a problem since this update fixes Battle.net always trying to update itself. This should allow you to use Battle.net without the fear of it constantly trying to update and break support.
On top of that, a fix for re4_tweaks breaking mouse support. re4_tweaks is a tool made by nipkownix that fixes up the original release of Resident Evil 4 (2005). It helps/changes a lot, but it ranges from 60 FPS fixes to adding in a Vulkan Renderer. Overall, it is fantastic and if you are planning to play the original release, using these tweaks is the way to do it:
Proton Experimental Update 7/21/23 Changelog:
- Fixed Battle.net always trying to update itself.
- Fixed a few Proton 8.0 regressions:
- Using re4_tweaks no longer breaks mouse support in Resident Evil 4 (2005).
