A new Proton Experimental update was released yesterday that brings in some nice regressions to fix some games and make them more playable! Tekken 8 and The Finals had their Proton Hotfixes brought into this layer to keep them working, and Black Desert Online is now playable. There were some regressions to fix Space Engineers, Diablo 4, Disgaea 5, and Resident Evil 2, while compatibility with OpenComposite has been improved.
Proton Experimental 2/7 Update Changelog:
- Now playable: Black Desert Online.
- Fixed games previously playable only via Proton Hotfix:
- The Finals
- Tekken 8
- Improved compatibility with OpenComposite.
- Fixed Proton Experimental regressions:
- Space Engineers is again able to connect to a server.
- Diablo IV no longer has window focus issues after opening a browser on a Steam Deck.
- Disgaea 5 no longer crashes during intro cinematic if MovieType was set to 2.
- Resident Evil 2 no longer behaves weirdly when the window dragged around in windowed mode.
- Improved support for input devices with 8+ axes.
