Are you excited for the upcoming sequel to Path of Exile as much as I am? The game looks absolutely phenomenal, and seeing how they are changing the formula up, along with the awesome new classes, has been outstanding. At Summer Game Fest's Play Days, I had the opportunity to try the game out for myself, and while I can confirm how fantastic it is, there's one other wonderful piece of information I had confirmed to me: Path of Exile 2 is being optimized for the Steam Deck.

While I was playing the game, I had the pleasure of talking to someone from the dev team who gave me some pointers for the areas I was playing in. So, while I was doing that, I asked about playing the game on the Steam Deck since my demo had me using a controller, and it turns out that they are taking it into account during development! The team is testing the game on the Steam Deck and optimizing it to make sure we will be able to play there without issue.

After playing the game for myself, I am extremely happy to hear this since the game is as amazing as it looks. The gorgeous surroundings, the fluid combat, the way skills interact with each other, the new accessibility settings, everything feels more refined and improved over the previous iteration, all while still feeling like Path of Exile and keeping it's expansive customization options. This is one I can't wait for the release!

Path of Exile 2 can currently be wishlisted on Steam ahead of its release.
