Ever since I can remember, Mortal Kombat has been one of my favorite fighters, and Mortal Kombat 1 continued that trend. It's an incredible game, but it is quite hard to run on the Steam Deck. Today, we got a new update for the game that increased stability and performance just a bit, making it easier to play on the go!

Per the new April Update released earlier today, we have some game stability improvements and improved performance for almost all hardware configurations. The patch specifically includes the Steam Deck, so of course, I had to make sure of this myself! I downloaded Mortal Kombat 1, and I was quite impressed. With XeSS on Quality, I was able to get a solid 40 FPS in the stages I tested. I did see if 60 FPS was possible on the lowest settings, but unfortunately, it can't handle it just yet.

The rest of the update included a bunch of general fixes and adjustments, like a Change Pose option in Photo Mode, AI improvements, and some timing. We also got some online performance adjustments and Krossplay support! This leads to the new Invasions Season called Storm, which will last until June 4th.

The new season is filled with challenges and rewards with awesome exclusive skins for different characters. The costumes look sick, and with Raiden returning as the main boss in Invasions mode, this looks to be an awesome experience. And, with Ermac arriving today as a new fighter (early access for Kombat Pack owners), there's no reason to dive back in!

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on Steam for $69.99 but is 47% off on Fanatical for the next 4 days at $37.09! This is a great deal for one of the best fighting games out now.
