The Like a Dragon/Yakuza series is one of the few franchises that I am confident will run on the Steam Deck. Not only has every single game in the series run well on the Deck, but publisher SEGA has been doing an amazing job with making sure all of their releases run decently on the Steam Deck. Last year, they crushed it with support, making sure games like Sonic X Shadow Generations, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona 3 Reload, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are all playable on the go. And it looks like they are keeping it going this year, starting with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Yesterday, series developer RGG Studio announced on Twitter/X that the game is officially Verified, marking it as a "great experience" from Valve. I expected this to happen at some point, given the history of the other Like a Dragon/Yakuza games and their badges, but it's still really awesome to see. I can't wait to be able to play Pirate Yakuza on the go, so this does give me some confidence I will be able to.
However, I would also take it with a grain of salt. Valve's Verified system isn't the most accurate, and there are games with a green checkmark that should not have it at all. It also isn't indicative of how well the game will run. Generally, Verified means it can run and stick to 30 FPS, but even that requirement has been broken by other games that got the Verified badge. I am confident that this isn't the case with Pirate Yakuza due to RGG Studio's solid optimization in general, but it's still good to keep it in perspective.
Regardless, I am confident this will be a great game to play. The requirements do look a little on the heavy side for the Deck, but I am sure this will be a blast that you can take wherever you go.
