The Cook Serve Delicious series has been one of my favorite cooking games during my downtime. While the newest entry in the franchise, Cook Serve Forever, had a rocky start, it sounds like it is getting much better. A new update released last week overhauled and redesigned the game to fix many of the issues it initially released. It sounds fantastic and is something I can't wait to try. With the newest patch, we have some updates on playing on the Steam Deck.

There are a couple of parts to this update that relate to the Steam Deck. Developer Vertigo Gaming Inc. has noted that you must force Proton Experimental in the game's properties settings. Game Maker, the company on which the engine for Cook Serve Forever is built, has mentioned that the engine will be fixed soon, so you won't need to force Proton Experimental in the future. Video files have also been updated, so you shouldn't have any choppy performance until a more thorough fix is made.

We also have some great new improvements and additional support that will make playing in general and on Deck much better. Input detection has been enhanced for the gamepad so it will be easier to control, rumble and Steam screenshot support has been added, a service bell sound has been added when serving orders, and there have been some minor UI improvements.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.
