Apex Legends is one of the few battle royales I personally enjoy, and can run on the Steam Deck, but it seems with the newest update, we will be having some issues trying to play. The Ignite update that was released today, which brought in a new legend (Conduit), a new map rotation, and an update to Storm Point, also brought in some anti-cheat updates that broke compatibility with the Steam Deck.
Reported by GamingOnLinux, it seems like you will get immediately booted when trying to enter a match, getting stopped by anti-cheat authentication. This is a shame, considering this is one of the better battle royales out there, but Steam Deck users will have to wait a little to get back into this one. The little change that was updated brought in new in-match notifications, but it did get rid of the file "easyanticheat_x64.so", which could be causing the issue.
Luckily, Respawn is on the case to fix it! On the Trello board for Apex Legends, which shows progress on content and bug fixes, the EAC issue on Steam Deck is on the board under the "In Progress" category. This means the devs are looking into it and working on a fix, which we will hopefully see soon!
