A very exciting confirmation for us over here at SDHQ, the upcoming metroidvania Animal Well has been confirmed to have Steam Deck support! Earlier today, we reached out to Billy Basso, who is working on Animal Well, on Twitter asking if the game will be supported on the Steam Deck and he promptly responded to our inquiry!

While he didn't go into specifics, this isn't a game that seems like it will be hard to run on the Deck, but it is awesome to have confirmation!

Animal Well is an upcoming 2D platformer published by Bigmode that sees you hatch from a flower and traverse beautiful caves and discover the secrets of the well. The official description goes a little deeper too:

Explore a dense, interconnected labyrinth, and unravel its many secrets. Collect items to manipulate your environment in surprising and meaningful ways. Encounter beautiful and unsettling creatures, as you attempt to survive what lurks in the dark. There is more than what you see.

  • Light candles for safety and gradually fill out your map
