It feels like today is a 4X strategy kind of day when it comes to games with Steam Deck-specific updates! Dune: Spice Wars is another one from the team behind Northgard, and you will lead your faction to battle and control Arrakis. It looks intriguing, and focuses on real-time over turn-based gameplay. It's definitely an enjoyable game on the Steam Deck though, and it has just gotten a bit better.

Before the update, a weird issue would happen on Deck. If you opened the game, it was possible it would open it twice, which could severely hamper performance. Luckily, that bug has now been fixed, and if you were seeing major framerate drops that didn't make a ton of sense, those should be better now.

But that's not all! This is a community update that is focused on user feedback and suggestions. For this one, we now have a Spectator Mode so you can have up to 8 people watching the game, Pillaged Sietch and Assassination UI has been reworked, a plethora of different spaceships and units have had balancing adjustments, and there are a multitude of bug fixes. There are also some Lobby QoL improvements, like how a player kicked from a lobby can't immediately rejoin.

You can view the full changelog from their Steam Community Post.

Dune: Spice Wars is available on Steam for $34.99 and is currently rated Steam Deck Playable due to small in-game text. There is full controller support though, so no need to worry about that!
