I absolutely adore the Sid Meier's Civilization series, and I am so excited for the 7th mainline entry. I had a chance to play it at Gamescom last year, and I was sold on the new mechanics and focus on multiple different leaders you play across different eras. It gives a brand new way to strategize and a chance for those who may have fallen behind to pick themselves back up. And it looks like playing it on the go is not going to be too difficult, either.

Sid Meier's Civilization 7 has just gotten the Steam Deck Verified badge ahead of its February 11th release date. This should signify that the game will be decently playable on the Deck at launch. I am still worried about the in-game interface being legible and exactly how well the default graphics configuration will perform, but theoretically, this is a sign that playing on the go won't be difficult in the slightest.

Valve's Verified system does have some quirks, so I don't trust it fully, but I am more optimistic for this release being very wonderful on the Steam Deck. The requirements for the game are within the Deck's operating power, even if they are a little more demanding than most other games. I believe the game will be playable at 30 FPS with low to medium quality settings. It's possible we could maybe push to 40 FPS depending on upscaling and exactly what settings we can change, but I would be surprised.

The only other worry I have is Denuvo's DRM, which the game will have. This could hurt performance a little bit, which is why I think 30 FPS is going to be the way to go. Regardless, it's exciting seeing the Verified badge, and I can't wait for the release!
