Earlier today, there were two updates pushed to help your experience on the Steam Deck, one for the beta client and one for SteamOS. The SteamOS update fixed some small problems with game recording failing and some display regressions for games like Disgaea 5 Complete and Warriors All-Stars.

As for the Beta Client update, game recording will now work for non-Steam games again and some other smaller issues where post-game events in recordings outside of the Client. There was also an issue where controller input would become unresponsive after changing a controller layout setting.

You can download the updates yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Beta or Preview.
