Final Fantasy 16 Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released yesterday, and it has some very interesting fixes included. The most interesting standout is easily the Final Fantasy 16 fixes, which include low FPS fixes and showing displays in settings. It’s rare for a Proton fix to include framerate fixes, so it’s quite interesting to see if this made a difference in the full game.

Other than that, we have a fix for Mary Skelter 2 stuttering on launch, Shadow of the Tomb Raider can be played on DX12 mode now, and Xalia has been updated to work with new games like Fallout: New Vegas and Warriors All-Stars. It also appears that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is now playable from this update. The game wasn’t playable before due to anti-cheat incompatibility, but after this patch, I can confirm it is now working!

The new Proton Experimental update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.
