If you're excited about the next entry into the SteamWorld universe dropping on August 8th, then you'll be pleased to know that a new gameplay trailer for SteamWorld Heist II just dropped. The trailer is narrated by the game's lead designer and covers gameplay mechanics and features that you'll encounter on this high-seas adventure!

It's a juicy 5-minute video that you can check out right here:

The trailer covers SteamWorld Heist II's basics, such as how bullets in the game's turn-based land combat ricochet, so you'll need to plan your shots and make use of your environment in order to have the most effective turn possible.

We also get a look at some of the characters that you'll meet along your adventure, who can join your crew and fight with you in battle. You can assign different crew members to different jobs, which works similarly to a class, with each job having different weapons and abilities available to them. Interestingly, even if you switch a crew member's job, they will keep their abilities, meaning you can switch between jobs accruing valuable abilities and skills.

Finally, there's a short look at some of the enemies you'll face in SteamWorld Heist II, including the Royal Navy, an organized and defensive faction, and the Rattlers, a faction of robots obsessed with bones, who are weak, but numerous.

SteamWorld Heist II is due to launch on Steam on August 8th, 2024. The game is planned to have full controller support and the system requirements are at a level where the Steam Deck should be able to run the game fine.
