Codename: Ocean Keeper is one of the few roguelikes I have seen with an intriguing concept. You patrol the ocean floor in a giant mech spider that you customize, which has you going around on a 3D plane, and then you deep dive into caves and turn into a 2D diver to find materials. I love that two different types of gameplay are woven in, and it seems to do so with an interesting amount of replayability. And with this newest update, controlling your diver and mech on the Steam Deck should be much nicer.

Recently, there were a couple of small bugs and issues with the Steam Deck Input and buttons, but with the new 0.6.1 update, they should be squashed! The bug that rendered the right stick non-functional has now been fixed, and an issue during the tutorial dialogue where the back button was missing in-game has been fixed as well. The right stick issue was much more pressing since it would render the stick unusable, so I am glad this has been fixed.

A solid number of other bugs were also resolved. The infinite relic auto slots bug has been figured out, so you will no longer be able to select all of your relics simultaneously. There's also been a fix for the game freezing if you complete too many waves, and worms won't spawn behind the dome anymore.

There are a couple more fixes included, so you can view the full changelog on their Steam Community Post.

Codename: Ocean Keeper is currently on sale for its launch at $6.39 and will stay there until August 1st.
