I have been very excited for the newest handheld PCs coming with the insanely powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, and now, AYANEO is getting into the game. Over on Twitter/X, they announced the AYANEO NEXT 2, a top-of-the-line handheld PC that will include this hefty APU, and they gave us some details on what to expect from it.

The NEXT 2 looks like an extremely premium device, and one that I would say excites me a lot more than the other AI Max+ 395 handhelds out there. The big feature I love are those dual track pads, which would make desktop navigation and point and click games much easier to play. It's one of my favorite features of the Steam Deck, and I am glad it's here in the NEXT 2.
As we mentioned, this will be using the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, which is the most powerful APU in a handheld right now. We also have large joysticks with hall linear triggers, two rear buttons and trigger locks, dual-fans for cooling, and an extra-large battery. It doesn't mention any details of their "top-tier" screen, how big the battery is, or pricing yet, but it does look beautiful.

It does look like a pretty hefty device, though, which could indicate the battery is inside the device instead of external, which we see with the GPD WIN 5 and OneXFly Apex. It reminds me of the AYANEO KUN, which is a pretty big device. I would be worried about the weight as well, but since we don't have official specs yet, there's still a lot of speculation. Still, it looks awesome so far, and I can't wait to see more once AYANEO announces it.
