It's time to dive back into the world of electromagnetism with Teslagrad 2! This surprise release will see you stranded after your airship crashes in Wyrmheim and now, you must embark on a dangerous journey to get back to your family. But beware, the further you go, the more you will uncover of your dark past. Use electromagnetic powers to solve physics-based puzzles and defend against your enemies, while unlocking new abilities to help you traverse the world. With a focus on fluid motion, great puzzles, an engaging story, and a norse-inspired world, Teslagrad 2 is an experience to remember.
If you are looking for an absolutely gorgeous 2D platformer, look no further. Teslagrad 2's visuals and colors shine, making this one of the most visually appealing games I have played this year. I also really enjoyed the puzzles, forcing me to use timing and really make me think to complete them using the electromagnetic powers I have. The movement can feel a little choppy at times, but it didn't stop me from being able to jump and land on platforms or solve any puzzles.
The game is a little on the short side as well, lasting around 4-5 hours if you push through without trying to 100% and get the "real" ending, but it was still a worthwhile experience that I am happy I got the chance to play! And yes, it is a pleasure to play on the Steam Deck!
I am so happy to say that the beauty of Teslagrad 2 is captured flawlessly on the Steam Deck. With no changes at all, the game keeps a stable 60 FPS and battery drain remains under 10W for over 4 hours of battery!
Teslagrad 2 also features cloud saves, 16:10 resolution, and full controller support.
I didn’t expect Teslagrad to come out with a sequel, but I couldn’t be happier that it did. Teslagrad 2 is gorgeous and enjoyable to play with puzzles that made me think and a story that kept me invested. The movement felt a little choppy at times, and the story is a bit on the short side, but I loved the experience regardless. On top of that, the game runs flawlessly on the Steam Deck without changes, making it a Best on Deck game, and boy does it deserve the badge!
