Of all the anime that has ever come out, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure has got to be the craziest I have ever seen. It was all over the place, made almost no sense, and yet, was such a good time. It was only a matter of time before a fighting game was made and, in 2013, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle was released on consoles. Now, 9 years later, we are finally able to play it on PC/Steam Deck. Geared with 50+ characters, re-recorded audio, adding in hit-stops and air dashes, and more, this is the definitive edition of the game and boy does this run on Deck.
Immediately, with no setting adjustments, the game is running at a smooth 60 FPS, albeit with some higher temps than it should, setting CPU above 85c and GPU above 80c. It seems as though the game tries to overcompensate and draw more power than it should, draining the battery at 17W. With shadow quality on medium, I was able to set TDP down to 6 with no change in 60 FPS stability, but temps went down below 70c and drain stuck at a beautiful 11W.
I did also notice that, while the game says it has a native 16:10 resolution of 1280x800, the game stuck at 1280x720, as you can see from the black bars at the top and bottom above the images. It also seemed that lowering the resolution did work, but I could not use FSR to upscale. Overall though, this game runs and plays really well. With almost no sacrifice to hit 60 FPS, as well as ways to reduce drain and temps dramatically, this is the pristine way to play!

Steam Deck is by far the best way to play JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R!
