ForzaMotorsportStock1

Tomorrow, the acclaimed racing game, Forza Motorsport, is officially releasing and it looks absolutely phenomenal. With over 500 cars on world-famous tracks, this iteration looks to be a gigantic leap forward for the Forza series. Unfortunately, trying to run the game on the Steam Deck is a bit of a problem. Luckily, Valve is aware of this and seems to be on the case to fix it!

When asked by Twitter (X) user @ExplorerBoy_007, Pierre-Loup Griffais, a Valve engineer who works with the Steam Deck and Proton, confirmed that they are aware of the issue and are troubleshooting the next steps to get it running.

It seems there are some compatibility issues with Proton, so there needs to be some investigation as to what could be causing the issue. This means that Valve will most likely release a Proton Fix, similarly to what they did with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 online functionality, to get it running correctly on the Deck. The team has usually been very good about getting game fixes through Proton updates out quickly, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some fixes soon.

In the meantime, once the game unlocks tomorrow, you should be able to stream it through xCloud if you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. As for how to set it up, you can follow our guide.

Hopefully, we will be seeing a fix soon, as this would be an awesome game to try getting to run on the Deck. Game optimization to get it running well may be hard due to the heavy system requirements, but I do love a challenge!

The game is currently available for pre-order on Steam for $69.99.
