Terra Nil Receives its Free 'Vita Nova' Update, New Levels, Buildings, & More

Terra Nil, is an "eco-puzzler" game from Free Lives (Broforce, GORN) and it's just received its first free major update, taking the form of the Vita Nova update, it brings a plethora of new features and content to the game. To celebrate the update, the game is also 40% off on Steam until June 27th, 2024.

Before we go into what this new update adds to Terra Nil, you can check out the update's trailer below:

The Vita Nova update brings 5 new levels and 9 new buildings to Terra Nil, as well as improving other aspects of the game, such as animal behavior.

New levels include Polluted Bay, a dead landscape carved in half by a badly polluted river, and Scorched Caldera, a vast volcanic crater that you must terraform into a life-filled freshwater lake.

The game's world map is now fully 3D and can be freely rotated allowing you to get a better overview of the world you're restoring.

Animals will now emerge more naturally as you play and have a deeper set of needs to fulfill to keep them happy and abundant. This not only adds a new dimension of strategy to the game but gives you more animals to admire, a brand new species has also been added to the game, the jaguar.

Terra Nil is available on Steam now for $24.99, although there's a 40% discount for the next week until June 27th, 2024. The game is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck, due to some controller issues and small in-game text. We found that the game plays quite nicely on the Steam Deck in our review of Terra Nil.
