This is probably the moment we all thought would come, but hoped it wouldn't. The official distributor of the Steam Deck in Asia, KOMODO, has announced that the price of the Steam Deck in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan will be increasing from March 6th as a result of increased logistics costs and exchange rates. This will affect both the 512GB and 1TB OLED Steam Deck models, the only models currently in production.

| Country (Model) | Original Price: | New Price: |
| Japan (512GB OLED) | 84,000 Yen | 98,800 Yen (17.6% Increase) |
| Japan (1TB OLED) | 99,800 Yen | 114,800 Yen (15% Increase) |
| South Korea (512GB OLED) | KRW 839,000 | KRW 898,000 (7% Increase) |
| South Korea (1TB OLED) | KRW 989,000 | KRW 1,048,000 (6% Increase) |
| Taiwan (512GB OLED) | TWD 18,880 | TWD 18,980 (0.5% Increase) |
| Taiwan (1TB OLED) | TWD 21,980 | TWD 22,480 (2.2% Increase) |
As you can see, the price increase is hitting Japan pretty hard, whereas Taiwan is barely affected by the changes, and South Korea falls between the two. The company also makes note of the fact that Hong Kong will not see a change in price at this time.
The silver lining here is that the Steam Deck has been out of stock in Asia for some time, but the KOMODO website promises a restock along with the price increase, so if you are looking to get hold of a Steam Deck in Asia, you should soon be able to.
