There have been so many games releasing with some form of anti-tampering or anti-cheat protections, even for single-player games. While I can understand why, these DRM can render some games unplayable on some OS, while anti-tamper DRM, like Denuvo, can negatively impact performance. So, whenever these are removed from a game, there is cause for celebration, and that's what this article is here for today!

You can save some money by buying this game for $50.99 over on GreenManGaming using coupon code MAR15.

Dragon Quest 1&2 HD-2D Remake

Earlier, Square Enix removed the anti-tamper DRM, Denuvo, from Dragon Quest 1&2 HD-2D Remake. This was confirmed over on SteamDB, where the update log for the game shows the removal of Denuvo from the Steam store page, following a patch to the game that effectively reduced the size of the game. This should mean the game will run a little bit better, though it was already running wonderfully on the go.

This also comes with a formal update to the game, which fixed some bugs across Dragon Quest 1 and 2, while also fixing an issue where players couldn't claim save data bonus items if they had played Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake as well. The save data issue was a specific Steam Deck problem, so I am happy to see it fixed.

You can check out the update for yourself via their Steam Community Post.

Dragon Quest 1&2 HD-2D Remake is $59.99 on Steam and is rated Playable due to small in-game text. However, if you want to save some money, you can get it on GreenManGaming for $50.99 using coupon code MAR15.
