Even though I am not surprised by this, I am still extremely happy to see it! Earlier today, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, which is coming to PC in two months, officially received the green Steam Deck Verified checkmark.

While the big JRPG was released on the Switch originally, which has significantly less power than the Steam Deck, it's still nice to see some sort of validation that playing on the Steam Deck will be solid. Per the compatibility details, an internet connection will be required for the first setup, but otherwise, it should all be good to go!

Now, this doesn't mean it will perform well. There are some Verified games that have trouble running well, while Unsupported titles can run wonderfully. I don't doubt it will run well due to it running on the Switch and the minimum specs being so low, but time will tell for sure!

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the next entry in the SMT series made by the studio behind the Persona games (which is actually a spinoff of SMT). You will embark on a massive journey while traveling through gorgeous lands. And, with the new Vengeance edition, we have a new storyline, new locations, new demons, and new choices that will determine the fate of all existence. There's a lot to be excited about, and honestly, I can't wait!
