Newly-announced Tactical RPG Shadow of the Road is keeping the momentum going by releasing a Yokai feature post where they show off the designs of various Yokai you'll be meeting in this game inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology.

You can check some of them out in the trailer below:

Yokai will play various roles in the game, some of them will be friendly lending the players their powers to change the course of a battle, however, some of them will pose a serious challenge to players throughout the game.

It's not just Yokai that's different in this alternative take on 19th-century Japan though. Steampunk technology is thriving, and you'll be able to take full advantage of it to give you an edge. And as the Boshin War draws to a close, the choices you make and the bonds you forge will have serious consequences.

Shadow of the Road doesn't have a release date yet, but you can wishlist it on Steam to be kept up to date.
