Japan loves their high school games, and FURYU Corporation’s RPG Varlet is coming out on August 28!

In this virtual reality RPG, players must guide their friends, strengthen bonds, and fight to protect the school from utter destruction.

At the core of Varlet’s experience is its dynamic Triad Stats system, which shapes character progression based on player choices. It looks like a solid enough system, and it should shake things up. I like Persona as much as anyone, but those games could have benefited from more character progression like this. Players will determine their true nature, either as a guiding leader or a ruthless ruler.
