If you're after a quick and chaotic multiplayer battler, then Nubs! Arena might be well worth checking out, especially as it's free for the next 20 hours or so over on Steam.

The game just launched, and the developers are offering the game for free for the first 24 hours, before then charging $7.99.

Nubs! Arena is a multiplayer top-down battler for between 4-20 players. You can play in local multiplayer or in online battles. Choose your character, start off with some basic equipment, and then scavenge your way to the top of the food chain so you have what it takes to take home the victory.

To spice things up a bit, the arenas themselves present hazards to players, such as environmental traps. Even if you die, you'll still have a chance to be able to get back into the action.
