505 Games has announced they will publish MIGHTREYA, an anime-inspired hero action game set to launch in 2025. The game's creator, the Japanese indie studio Wazen, is combining fast-paced aerial combat with a plot that revolves around hero content creators fighting monsters from other dimensions.

In MIGHTREYA, players step into the roles of Reya, an unexpected hero, and her manager Nio, as they rise to fame in a world suddenly under siege by monstrous beings. Soaring through the skies in epic superhero-style battles, players will lock onto targets, chain attacks, and pull off combos—all while experiencing intense, fluid action.

Accompanying the announcement was a first-look trailer (check it out above) that gave players a taste of the game's fast-paced combat and colorful anime style. MIGHTREYA looks like it might have all the makings of an exceptional anime/action thriller.

505 Games, the studio responsible for smash hits like Terraria and Stardew Valley, has a talent for unearthing hidden treasures in the indie gaming community. With MIGHTREYA, they seem to have found something exciting once again. Effortless aerial combat set against an anime-style narrative is sure to captivate any player. It has the potential to be a game that catches players off guard if the gameplay matches the visual quality.
