Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s paid story expansion has just been released by the Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver. Brushes with Death is a narrative expansion that's out now, costing $5.99. If you’re the owner of the game’s Gold Edition or Expansion Pass, then it's free for you to play.

It launches alongside the 1.3 update that brings quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and a free horse racing feature.

Brushes with Death offers a new storyline where you need to aid a mysterious artist to unveil his past. The questlines are passive throughout both maps of the game. Help your new friend finish the most crucial painting of his life, while finding the answers to questions like Who is he? How does he know so much? And why is he carrying around a painted human skull?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: Brushes with Death not only brings new quests, but also offers a unique feature to visually customize your shield. You have a free hand to choose the patterns and colors, showcasing your personality. Mount up to complete two new challenges that focus on horse racing, including archery in the free Horse Racing DLC. You will compete against three opponents across different routes and difficulty levels to increase your horse-handling skills to the maximum. Check your observation skills and accuracy, along with your instinct in the archery contests. Here you have to ride alone a course while shooting at the designated targets.

Players who own the Gold Edition or Expansion Pass of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II can receive the new content for free, while others have to purchase the Brushes with Death for $5.99. The Gold Edition of the game includes the base game, Gallant Huntsman's Kit, and Expansion Pass. The Expansion Pass includes access to the Shields of Season passing pack and all three paid story DLCs.
