IKUMA - The Frozen Compass Will Have Steam Deck Support on Release

The Triple-I Initiative showcase is probably one of my favorite showcases I have seen recently. Giving the spotlight for indies is just a treat, and I found it hard not to love all 30+ games shown during it. One of those awesome games is IKUMA - The Frozen Compass, an upcoming co-op game about being stranded in the harsh, icy cold with your dog and needing to survive. It looks hauntingly beautiful, and it sounds like we will be able to enjoy the adventure on the Steam Deck.

I reached out to developer/publisher Mooneye Studios to see whether or not it will be playable on the Steam Deck, as it looks like it would be perfect. Less than 10 minutes later, CEO of Mooneye, Tobias Graff, responded to confirm that they are aiming to have the Verified badge and fully support the Steam Deck at release. Since it is slated for release in 2026, they can only state their plans, but the fact that they have it in mind and are aiming for it is a very good sign.

Surprisingly, they actually have system requirements posted for the game already, and it's definitely within the range for performance on the Steam Deck. Even the recommended requirements still fit comfortably within the Steam Deck's range, so I would find it very surprising if it wasn't playable.
