A new version of the Heroic Games Launcher has just released and it is definitely a hefty one! There are a lot of new changes, but there are a couple gigantic ones that have migrated their way into the Epic Games/GOG launcher. This expands the launcher even further into being a necessary addition on your Steam Deck, so let's get right into it:

Amazon Games Support

Recently, Heroic teased that Amazon Games would be integrated directly into the launcher, making it easier to play and launch all the games you have redeemed to your account. This update adds that in, making it easier to access all the games you have there! This is fantastic since, if you have Amazon Prime, there are a ton of FREE GAMES that are constantly added there to redeem. This includes Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Baldur's Gate 2, and many more.

Web App DRM Support

Next we officially have DRM support for Web Apps. Heroic made it available to add your own web shortcuts that can go directly to specific sites or streaming platforms like Xbox Cloud Streaming. Unfortunately, some applications have a DRM and it stopped apps like Netflix, AppleTV, and others from working.

With today's update, these will now officially work! You can link to these and sit back and watch to your heart's content. Just click "Add Game", select "Browser" under Platform Version to install, and paste the link below! You should be all set once you launch it.

Apple Gaming Port Toolkit Detection

This is mainly for those using Heroic on MacOS, but with this update, the launcher will be able to use Apple's Gaming Port Toolkit much easier, which makes playing DX11 and DX12 games easier.

On top of these, there were a ton of fixes that were incorporated into this new version. It is fantastic seeing these improvements and it only makes us more excited to be using the launcher ourselves!
