Well I definitely didn't need a reason to jump back into Factorio, but I will take it! In the newest experimental update (1.1.83) posted 12 hours ago, Factorio will be fixing up a bunch of stuff, as well as adding controller support! This is especially helpful for those playing on the Steam Deck as all actions in-game will be available to be controller with the buttons on the controller.

To access this update, you will need to go to your preferences for Factorio and go into the betas tab. Then, scroll through the drop down and make sure you select 1.1.83 (you can also select "Latest 1.1 Experimental".

Factorio Experimental Update

Once you do this, download the update and the game will start in the new version! You might have to swap the controller scheme to "Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad" to use gamepad controls as well.

It took me a little to get used to the controls, and it is a bit complicated to begin with thanks to all the small shortcuts, but there is a small box in the bottom left corner while in-game showing which buttons to press to do specific things that pertain to your situation in-game.

Factorio runs fantastic on the Steam Deck and does have a native build on Linux! You can get the game on Steam for $35 or, if you have Humble Choice, you can get the game on Humble for $28.
