Earth vs Mars Gets Steam Deck Optimizations With Big New Patch

Sometimes, a good old turn-based strategy game is just what I need to relax, and Earth vs Mars looks like it could be that game. You will have to lead Earth's forces to protect the planet from the Martian invasion, and to do so, you will have to create human-creature super soldiers to fight for you. With over 160,000 combinations of hybrid super soldiers to create and a ton of different modes, including a map editor, it sounds like the fun will keep on going long past the single-player campaign. However, the game just got a new update, and it made the game Steam Deck Verified.

The new 1.2.0 update, which was just released, has not only made sure the game got the Verified badge, but also fully optimized the game for the Deck. In the changelog, developer Relic Entertainment noted that they have made sure the controls and UI are perfect for the Deck, and specifically made sure the performance was optimized. We also have a fix for the fog of war performance issue on the Deck. So, not only is it Verified, but it has gotten the extra work to make it perfect to enjoy on the go.

But that's not where this update ends. We have three new creatures to splice with: Red Pandas, Scorpions, and Beavers, as well as nine new commander passive abilities. There are also new campaign modes and achievements to go along with them.
