Abalon Update Fixes Loading Crash on Steam Deck In New Update

Abalon is quite a unique roguelike. It is inspired by tabletop games, packed with an overhead view and dice rolls, and your goal is to build the perfect card deck to outsmart your foes and crush them. On top of that, developer D20Studios is consistently hard at work updating the game to make it as playable as possible on the Steam Deck, and the newest patch continues that trend.

In the new update, there is a specific improvement that was implemented on the Linux native version of the game when playing on Steam Deck. There was an error when trying to load cache files to launch the game, but it was incorrectly reporting that it couldn't find the files. The fix changes the location of rasterized assets are stored to prevent it from not being able to find the cache, which should mean you can play the native Linux version of the game with ease again.

The rest of the update has some nice new features and other improvements across the board. Turkish localization has been added to the game, you can now sort cards by their Gold cost, there are two new challenge modifiers, and the max descent level has increased to 15. There are also a solid amount of fixes for targeting, key-related bugs, design and view changes, and nice quality-of-life improvements, including improved performance, portrait layout for the game lobby, and more.
