There are so many great games to enjoy on the Steam Deck, and with Christmas being tomorrow, there are some wonderful titles to play with family and friends. So, I wanted to create a little recommendation list of games to enjoy with family and friends for the holidays, and with the Winter Sale going on right now, it's a great time to pick these up. All of these games are wonderful on the Deck, and would be great to enjoy with everyone when docked to a TV.
You will need extra controllers to play with others for all of these titles except for Jackbox, which uses phones as a controller.
10 Great Games For The Steam Deck To Play With Family and Friends For Christmas
Jackbox Party Packs

The Jackbox Party Pack games are quite possibly the best party games to play with your family and friends. You all play with your phones and will play through a multitude of wacky games that end up being both hilarious and so much fun. Each Party Pack is filled with five different games, and each feels so unique from the others. Whether it be writing comedy jokes on a boat or creating a fake business proposal, there is an endless amount of fun to take part in.
I would personally recommend the Party Pack 5 for the fake business proposal game, but you can't go wrong with any option! They all run like a charm on the Steam Deck, especially with the game being playable from phones.
Overcooked! All You Can Eat - $9.99 (75% Off)

Overcooked was one of the first multiplayer games that I fell in love with after Super Smash Bros, and it's amazing to play with friends and family. You will work together with others to make food correctly and deliver it. There are over 200 new, unique levels, a multitude of chefs to choose from, and there's so much fun to have here.
The game runs wonderfully on the Steam Deck and is rated Playable only because you need to manually bring up the virtual keyboard. You can play with up to four people, and it's just a fantastic way to have some fun with family.
Moving Out 2 - $7.49 (75% Off)

Moving Out 2 is similar to Overcooked, where you will work with up to four people to move furniture around and help the residents of Packmore. It's as much fun as Overcooked, while still giving a different experience altogether. Still, despite it being different, it's so much fun to work together to try to move couches, chairs, and whatever else is needed in a multitude of unique scenarios.
The game is rated Verified on the Steam Deck for good reason, and is just a joy to play on the Deck. Docking this to the TV is just as great, and I highly recommend playing this with family and friends.
Split Fiction - $37.49 (25% Off)

While I tried to cater this list to 4-player games, Split Fiction is worth it. It is a 2-player co-op adventure where two people have to go through their own stories as authors and try to escape before their tales are stolen by a big corporation. There's so much variety in this fantastic adventure that it keeps on giving the more you play, and it's just so much fun.
It also plays well on the Steam Deck, and is such a deep, emotional adventure that I couldn't help but fall in love with.
Party Animals - $11.99 (40% Off)

Years ago, there was a game I loved called Gang Beasts, which felt like a physics-based version of Super Smash Bros, and that's where Party Animals comes in. This is just like Gang Beasts, but it feels a little more refined with adorable animals to play as. There are also interactable levels, ways to grab and punch each other, and more. It's a lot of fun, and I recommend checking it out if you are a fan of party games with addictive fighting mechanics.
The game is rated as Verified for the Steam Deck, but it works very well on the portable device. I had a ton of fun playing it, so I very much recommend checking it out.
Ultimate Chicken Horse - $5.24 (65% Off)

This is an older party game, but it still holds a spot in my playlist for family games for the holidays. Ultimate Chicken Horse is a platformer where you will create platforms and traps to try to stop the others from making it to the end, but still find some way to get there to win the match. You want to screw others up, but try not to ultimately screw yourself in the process.
The game is a joy on the Steam Deck, and I highly recommend checking it out.
LEGO Party! - $29.99 (25% Off)

If you enjoy Mario Party, then you will love LEGO Party. It's a 4-player party game where you will compete to get the most golden bricks. There are 60 fantastic minigames and levels where you can modify the world, while also customizing your character with tons of different options. There are a lot of options to choose from, and I love the variety in the games, figurines, and more.
And it also plays wonderfully on the Steam Deck, so it's a great game to enjoy with family and dock on the TV.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - $48.99 (30% Off)

Mario Kart is a great party game to play, but unfortunately, it isn't on PC. Thankfully, we have a great alternative that I highly recommend: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. You can play as different characters from across the Sonic universe, as well as some from other universes like SpongeBob and Minecraft. There are some unique mechanics here as well, with changing worlds mid-race, customizable perks, and more.
It runs exceptionally well on the Steam Deck as well, and I had a blast playing it this way. You may need to reduce some graphical settings if you dock it and play at 1080p, but it should be a lot of fun to play with family and friends!
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or Marvel Super Heroes 2 - $4.99 / $3.99 (90% / 80% Off)

I am a huge fan of the LEGO games, and they make for some fantastic games to play with friends and family. There are some great experiences to play through, but my favorites right now are the newest LEGO Star Wars and Marvel Super Heroes 2. The new LEGO Star Wars game is more detailed and has more characters with deeper open-world gameplay, but Marvel Super Heroes 2 has a great cast and the ability to create your own character, complete with powers.
Both of the games run great on the Steam Deck, and I think it will be great to enjoy on the big screen with friends and family.
Rivals of Aether 1 or Rivals of Aether 2 - $14.99 / $17.99 (50% / 40% Off)

Now, these are games that are even more perfect for those who enjoy Super Smash Bros. Rivals of Aether is an indie 2.5D fighting game very similar to Super Smash Bros. The first game is more 2D and uses pixel visuals with extremely tight gameplay, but it has a fantastic workshop with tons of community-made characters and stages like John Wick, Batman, Walter White, and even Nintendo characters like Mario and Kirby. Rivals of Aether 2 is the sequel and brings us into the 2.5D world, and still has the extremely tight gameplay, but no workshop with custom characters.
Both of these are wonderful on the Steam Deck, but I personally prefer Rivals of Aether 1 for the custom characters and stages.
And those are just 10 fantastic games for the Steam Deck that are perfect to enjoy with family and friends for Christmas and the holidays. There are tons of great games to check out, so I highly recommend going through the store, but if you need a good place to start, these are wonderful.
