Crysis 2 Remastered is a remaster of the sequel to the original first-person shooter that defined benchmarking. Picking up after where the prequel ended, aliens have returned and are attacking New York. Now, using an upgraded nanosuit with super speed, strength, stealth, and more, to fend off the intruders in your homeland and save humanity. With this game being a sandbox, you can tackle these missions how you want and use the physics to your advantage.
Just like the Crysis remaster (which we also reviewed), Crysis 2 plays extremely well on the Steam Deck. With some minor tweaking, I was able to get a solid 40 FPS with mostly medium graphics, which I loved. The game looks and feels phenomenal like this and ultimate culminates into a premium experience on the Deck. By only changing shadows to low and resolution to 1152x720, I was able to get around 3 - 3.5 hours of gameplay and temps staying right below the 70c mark and keep the game stable.
I can also confirm that simultaneous input or Mixed Input is supported in this game as well. This means if you set gyro behavior in Steam Input to "As Mouse", the gyro control will be enabled and work extremely well. I didn't feel like I needed to change a thing sensitivity wise, though it is very strong and some might want to turn it down from 100 to 70-80.
Overall, this is another incredible remaster that just runs beautifully on the Steam Deck. Knowing how huge these games are, I am personally stunned how well it can run. Crysis 2 Remastered is a fantastic adaptation of the original game and this feels like the best way to play by far!
