Over the last week, a solid number of games were brought into the Steam Deck Verified/Playable fold, including one of the games I have been looking forward to most this year: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. With that in mind, here are the eight new Verified and Playable games we found that deserved to be highlighted:
Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.
Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 1/8/24 - 1/14/24
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Verified)
Two larger-than-life heroes, Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu are brought together by the hand of fate, or perhaps something more sinister… Live it up in Japan and explore all that Hawaii has to offer in an RPG adventure so big it spans the Pacific.
The game will be released on January 25th, but is available to preorder now for $69.99. The game is rated Verified.
A Highland Song (Verified)
Moira McKinnon is running away. A wild adventure through the Scottish Highlands, with open platforming and dynamic storytelling, maps and music. From the creators of Heaven's Vault and 80 Days.
The game is $17.99 and is rated Verified.
Sail Forth (Verified)
Sail a fleet of customizable ships across an ocean whose ancient depths have swallowed the key to the mysterious past. Befriend fishfolk to expand your boat crews, take up arms against petulant pirates, and chart a course across an expansive watery world. Will you answer the call of High Adventure?
The game is $19.99 and is rated Verified.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (Playable)
Made in a close partnership with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a story-rich classical RPG from Owlcat Games, developers of the critically acclaimed game, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
The game is $49.99 and is rated Playable due to needing to use the virtual keyboard to enter text, needing to change the graphical settings, and has small text.
VVVVVV (Verified)
VVVVVV is a platform game all about exploring one simple mechanical idea - what if you reversed gravity instead of jumping? The game is designed not to artificially gate your progress. In VVVVVV there are no locks, no power-ups, no switches, nothing to stop you progressing except the challenges themselves.
The game is $4.99 and is rated Verified.
My Time at Sandrock (Playable)
Travel to the desert community of Sandrock and take on the role of a fledgling Builder. Use your trusty toolset to gather resources, construct machines, and turn your run-down workshop into a well-oiled production facility to save the town from the jaws of economic ruin!
The game is $39.99 and rated Playable due to entering some text manually the virtual keyboard.
Berzerk: Recharged (Verified)
Blast your way through an endless maze inhabited by deadly robots and their invulnerable, menacing master Evil Otto. Tag in a friend in local co-op to help you survive this twin-stick revival of an arcade classic.
The game is $9.99 and is rated Verified.
Hidden Through Time 2 (Verified)
Join Clicky on a new, enchanted adventure in Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic! Search for hidden objects scattered around hand-drawn worlds, and unlock more as you go. With both a single player campaign and an online mode where you can create your own dreamworld, the adventure never ends!
